Fond Memories

There are times like today that I wish I was back in the Army. If you have friends or family that were once in the military and they get this goofy look on their face when talking about their experiences in the service you might be confused about what they are thinking on the inside. It's hard to explain the feeling you get, but I think I've found a website that helps people understand what's going on. It's called www.soupsandwich.net . "Soup Sandwich" is a phrase heard often in the military and it doesn't have any type of secret meaning. It's often used in sentences like "Soldier, you're ate up like a soup sandwich!" You can find out more about it by going to the website, but that's not the main reason I want you to check it out. There some hilarious stories on that website from a couple of soldiers reliving various events in their careers. It's these stories that people who used to be in the service remember when they think back to those days. Sure, there are plenty of things that suck about being in the Army.. boring details, being out in the rain on days you'd rather stay in bed, having to listen to supervisors that have no brains.. but the stories on this website illustrate everything that is great about the Army. If you're in the right unit with the right people, it can be like a real life version of Animal House, a frat group, and an enjoyable job all rolled into one. Please check out this site, and I hope you enjoy the stories as much as I did!
