Oh so close..

We almost got him. No, not Osama.. who knows where that fruit loop is, the one I was referring to was Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Apparently an informant within Zarqawi's organization tipped the U.S. off to a meeting that was supposed to go down. We had our checkpoints set up, UAV's in the air, and so forth. A truck pulled u-turn and tried to leave the area. When we finally caught the vehicle it contained Zarqawi's laptop, but Iraq's #1 fugitive bailed out below an overpass and fled to a safe house. After it was all sorted out he was no where to be found.

It sucks that we didn't get him, but it's a major win in that we got his laptop. A guy always on the run does his work from a laptop and hopefully it'll provide some clues and helpful information. In a lot of ways it's more important that we catch this guy before Osama. Osama is the leader of his group and calls the shots, but he doesn't don a mask and saw people's heads off like Zarqawi does.
