Hips Don't Lie

I'm in the process of formulating a new workout routine.

Lately I've been switching between day shift and night shift every other week or every few weeks. Finally, after a couple months, my schedule is going to get back to normal.

Time to lose the 15 or so pounds I've put on over the last two months.

You make the call

A question for the guys (and ladies too, perhaps):

Which would you rather have teaching you the ropes?

Debra Lafave

OR

Pamela Rogers?

Joe already touched on this topic of hot teachers. I'm not going to get into all of the moral, ethical, and legal angles of teachers screwing students. I'm just here to say I'm pissed I didn't have this level of eye candy when I was in school.

In case you're not familiar with the case against Pamela Rogers, I'll give you the main points.

She was charged with having a sexual relationship with a 13 year old. She did a little prison time, and probation. The main part of her probation was to not have any contact with the student she was screwing.

Thinking she was clever, the teacher decided to create a myspace page as a method of staying in contact with the student. She also posted a video created with her cellphone of her dancing around in her underwear or bikini. The myspace page is gone, but you can see an archive of it here. You can also see the video by itself over on YouTube.

Or perhaps Erica Chevillar is more your taste.

At least she hasn't done anything illegal (that we know about).

Too bad for Amy McElhenney though.

She's been charged with a new felony on the books in Texas. She is accused of having sex with a student who is 18. In Texas it's illegal for a teacher to have a sexual relationship with a student, regardless of their age.

Maybe He'd Like a Recount?

Have you seen Al Gore's movie? I haven't. I don't think it's playing anywhere near where I live, and I'm not a big theater-goer anyway. I prefer my movies on DVD.

The Canada Free Press has an interesting rebuttal posted on their website, it's definitely worth a read.

Here's a sample:

"Carter does not pull his punches about Gore's activism, "The man is an embarrassment to US science and its many fine practitioners, a lot of whom know (but feel unable to state publicly) that his propaganda crusade is mostly based on junk science."

Pain in the head.

I currently have a top-five hangover.

Why do I torture myself like this? Because it was my birthday.

It has been decided that I shall have no more birthdays.

Do it Do it

I had an uncle with a long series of health problems related to Type II diabetes. He's battled through organ transplants, amputations, and infections of all sorts.

The brain aneurisym he had Wednesday morning was a bit of a suprise though, as those types of things usually are. Between the length of time it took for him to be found and the massive hemmoraging he had, the outlook wasn't good. Suprisingly he didn't die instantly, although being in a deep coma isn't much different really.

The doctors said that if he ever did "recover" his quality of life would be low, he's probably require a feeding tube and a ventilator in order to "live". The choice was made to take him off of ventilation and let him go because it was what he said he always wanted if this sort of situation came up. He died Friday morning not long after the ventilator was shut off.

I'm not here to get comments about how you're sorry(thank you though). I know you're all good people and I know what you'd say. What I am here to say is that you should have a living will. It doesn't matter if you're 18 or 80, its so important. Amazingly with all of his previous health issues, he didn't have one. I think that shocked me more than the medical situation that he was in. Fortunately our family was all on the same page with this situation, but it could've been real ugly if someone wasn't willing to let go and honor my uncle's wishes.
